Four days clustered so you never criss-cross the city: the Gothic Quarter and El Born on foot, a full Gaudí day (Sagrada Família, the Modernista hospital next door, Park Güell at golden hour, dinner in Gràcia), the Eixample's Block of Discord with a Raval finale, and a last day from Barceloneta's beach up Montjuïc by cable car. Booking discipline is the whole game: Sagrada Família and Park Güell sell out days ahead (and the Sagrada adds a €2–5 centenary surcharge June–Dec 2026), Casa Batlló's rooftop now needs the Silver tier, and Quimet & Quimet closes weekends. Watch your pockets on the metro and La Rambla — it's a pickpocket capital.

sight · 75 min · free · Plaça Reial, Barcelona
Plaça Reial, Barcelona
Thread the neo-Gothic Bisbe bridge, the shrapnel-scarred quiet of Plaça Sant Felip Neri, and the Roman walls, ending under Plaça Reial's palms and Gaudí's first commission — its lampposts. Keep phones zipped; this is prime pickpocket ground.
13:00
El Quim de la Boqueria
food · 75 min · €20
El Quim de la Boqueria, Mercat de la Boqueria, La Rambla 91
Counter-stool lunch inside the Boquería: fried eggs with baby squid is the signature (4.4 TA / 4.6 Google). Closed Sundays and Mondays — on those days graze the market's back stalls or nearby Carrer Tallers instead. Queues build after 13:30.
€20
15:00
Museu Picassobook ahead
sight · 90 min · €14book ahead
Museu Picasso, Carrer de Montcada 15-23

Santa Maria del Mar and the Born
sight · 60 min · €5 · Basílica de Santa Maria del Mar, Plaça de Santa Maria
Basílica de Santa Maria del Mar, Plaça de Santa Maria
The sailors' basilica — Catalan Gothic at its purest, built in 54 years by the neighborhood itself (€5 tourist hours; free during worship times). Then drift the Passeig del Born's medieval jousting ground, now the evening promenade.

19:00
El Xampanyet
food · 60 min · €15
El Xampanyet, Carrer de Montcada 22
Standing-room cava institution since 1929 (4.5 TA / 4.7 Google): house xampanyet, anchovies, and tinned delicacies under barrel vaults. Be in line before the 19:00 evening opening — it fills in minutes.
NOTE · field note · TEMPORARILY CLOSED: listed as closed until 2026-08-24 (verified 2026-08-15) — the usual Spanish August shutdown, not a permanent closure, and the ratings are unchanged.

La Pubillabook ahead
food · 90 min · €22book ahead
La Pubilla, Plaça de la Llibertat 23, Gràcia

18:30
Gràcia squares: Plaça de la Vila and Plaça del Sol
sight · 75 min · free · Plaça de la Vila de Gràcia
Plaça de la Vila de Gràcia
Walk down into the village Barcelona swallowed: clock-tower square, terrace vermouths, kids playing football at dusk. This is the unhurried counterweight to the day's two blockbusters.

Bar Bodega Quimet, Carrer de Vic 23, Gràcia
Gràcia's marble-counter bodega (4.3 TA / RG 4.5): grilled artichokes, jamón croquettes, house vermouth on tap. No relation to Poble Sec's Quimet & Quimet — you'll meet that one on day 4. ~€25.

Field log21/24 VENUES CLEAR · 3 FIELD NOTES✓ CHECKED 64 DAYS AGO

Every venue in this itinerary was checked against current public sources — opening hours, prices, closures — before it was published. Stops that aren't venues — transit legs, walks between them — aren't in the count.

How we check

Anything with a kitchen or a ticket gate is verified individually: the official site where one exists, plus recent traveler reviews. Public squares, parks and viewpoints get an existence check. A venue we can’t confirm is flagged below rather than quietly kept, and the whole itinerary is re-checked on a cadence — past 12 months without one, the checked claim is dropped and the date above stops being a promise.
