Five neighborhood-clustered days covering every first-visit essential: Notre-Dame and Sainte-Chapelle on the islands, a timed-entry Louvre morning, the Eiffel Tower summit with a golden-hour Seine cruise, Montmartre plus Père Lachaise, and a Marais-to-Arc-de-Triomphe finale. Every big sight is now timed-entry — booking windows are noted per stop, and non-EU ticket surcharges introduced in 2026 are called out. Weekday choreography matters: the Louvre day can't be a Tuesday, the Orsay and Rodin days can't be Mondays, and the Marais falafel stop is dark on Saturdays.

Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Paris
Free since the 2024 reopening, but reserve a free timed slot on the official 'Notre-Dame de Paris' app — slots release 2–3 days ahead. Walk-ins wait 1–3 hours in season. The restored interior is worth the choreography.

Shakespeare and Company
sight · 40 min · free
Shakespeare and Company, 37 Rue de la Bûcherie

13:15
Breizh Café Odéon
food · 75 min · €18
Breizh Café Odéon, 1 Rue de l'Odéon
The Breton crêperie that made galettes fashionable again — organic buckwheat, Cancale oysters, salted-caramel crêpes (~€18 with a bolée of cider). Open daily 11:00–23:00 with continuous service, so a late lunch is safe; book online to skip the wait.

Domaine du Palais-Royal
Free, two minutes from the Louvre's north exit. The striped Buren columns in the courtyard are the photo; the arcaded garden behind is where Parisians actually eat their lunch.
13:30
Passage des Panoramas and Galerie Vivienne walk
sight · 45 min · free · Passage des Panoramas, 11 Boulevard Montmartre
Passage des Panoramas, 11 Boulevard Montmartre
String together the 19th-century covered passages north from Palais-Royal: Galerie Vivienne's mosaics first, then Passage des Panoramas (1799, the oldest) with its stamp dealers and wine bars.
14:30
Bouillon Chartier Grands Boulevards
food · 75 min · €20 · Bouillon Chartier, 7 Rue du Faubourg Montmartre
Bouillon Chartier, 7 Rue du Faubourg Montmartre
1896 workers' canteen serving nonstop 11:30–24:00 — a full meal runs €15–25. No reservations; the queue moves fast, and mid-afternoon (like now) is the quietest window. Waiters still tally your bill on the paper tablecloth.

sight · 60 min · free · Galeries Lafayette Haussmann
Galeries Lafayette Haussmann
Circle the opera house's gilded facade, then take the Galeries Lafayette escalators to the free 8th-floor rooftop terrace (store hours, no ticket) — a straight-shot view over Garnier's copper roof to the Eiffel Tower. See the Art Nouveau dome inside on the way up.
17:45
Tuileries Garden at golden hour
sight · 60 min · free · Jardin des Tuileries
Jardin des Tuileries
Walk down Avenue de l'Opéra and finish in the Tuileries — chairs around the octagonal basin face the sunset lined up with the Obelisk and, beyond it, the Arc de Triomphe.

Field log24/29 VENUES CLEAR · 5 FIELD NOTES✓ CHECKED 65 DAYS AGO

Every venue in this itinerary was checked against current public sources — opening hours, prices, closures — before it was published. Stops that aren't venues — transit legs, walks between them — aren't in the count.

Checked against tripadvisor.com · monuments-nationaux.fr · haussmann.galerieslafayette.com · paris-notredame.com · toureiffel.paris · bateauxparisiens.com + 18 more

How we check

Anything with a kitchen or a ticket gate is verified individually: the official site where one exists, plus recent traveler reviews. Public squares, parks and viewpoints get an existence check. A venue we can’t confirm is flagged below rather than quietly kept, and the whole itinerary is re-checked on a cadence — past 12 months without one, the checked claim is dropped and the date above stops being a promise.
